Liberate your creativity and experiment arts for the pure fun of it at the coming Karnival Seni Kreatif Kita. Set to unlock your imagination and ignite your artistic soul, this super chill-out under the sun arts and culture carnival is taking place at Bukit Layang-Layang, Pasir Gudang, Johor from the 11th to 12th May 2013 at 10am to 7pm.
This free admission event, Karnival Seni Kreatif Kita, under the patronage of D.Y.M.M. Raja Zarith Sofiah binti Almarhum Sultan Idris Shah, is a passionate project brought to you by the My Performing Arts Agency (MYPAA) in collaboration with the National Department for Culture and Arts (JKKN). Also identified as an Entry Point Project (EPP) under the Economic Transformation Programme (ETP) NKEA Communications Content and Infrastructure (CCI), Karnival Seni Kreatif Kita is supported by the Ministry of Information Communication and Culture, Performance Management Delivery Unit (PEMANDU) and the Iskandar Region Development Authority (IRDA).

Karnival Seni Kreatif Kita’s headliners include the famed comedy troupe who played to sold-out shows at Istana Budaya, Lawak Ke Der (featuring Harith Iskander, Raja Azura, Osbon, Saiful Apek, Yasin), young composer/music sensation Najwa Latif (who also recently performed with Greyson Chance), Rolling Stone’s 25 Best Bands on Myspace Couple, glorious folk rock Azmyl Yunor and The Siggarettes, post grunge progressive rock band Primitive Leap and Johor indie rock band Medinee amongst others. The activities are aimed to attract Johoreans to enjoy a broad spectrum of arts and cultural activities including family friendly theatre shows, playwriting workshops, art exhibitions, film and theatre experiences including flashmobs, plays, ukulele, Capoeira, Johor traditional performances, games and many other fun activities.
Karnival Seni Kreatif Kita has been identified as an Entry Point Project under the Economic Transformation Programme NKEA Communications Content and Infrastructure targeted to elevate and ramp up development of the local performing arts industry. This event is a nationwide initiative making its debut in Johor before travelling to other parts on Malaysia in 2013. Performers and participants at the event will be engaging with the local community through various performances, highlighting the rich cultural diversity of the country in one venue.
